A coordinating umbrella that unites the Swaida diaspora to support their community back home.
The Swaida Diaspora Network is a pioneering international initiative, currently being established as a registered non-profit federation of associations in Germany. The Network aims to provide a coordinating umbrella that brings together members (existing associations and unions), participating members, and collaborators from among professionals and activists around the world. The idea emerged in response to the need for a neutral humanitarian and rights-based platform that institutionalizes support efforts and strengthens cooperation among the Swaida diaspora to support civil society at home in the fields of development, governance, and humanitarian work. In its founding stage, the Network acts as a connecting link that aims to empower partners and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise, with full commitment to the principle of independence. Its statute (under registration) affirms that the Network is a legal and financial entity entirely independent of the associations and initiatives within it; it does not carry out its activities in their name nor impose any guardianship over them — each entity remains solely responsible for its own activities under its own legal frameworks. Through its proposed structure (the General Assembly, the Board of Directors, and the independent Oversight Committee), the Network works to embody the values of transparency and governance. In doing so, it does not present itself as an alternative to existing bodies, but as an organizational framework that gathers scattered energies and turns them into sustainable institutional work — preserving Swaida's cultural identity and human heritage, and serving the public good as equal partners in rights and duties.
